Purple Style Labs Sets IPO Price Band for Rs 834 Cr Offering

The Luxury Fashion Platform Goes Public

Purple Style Labs, the parent entity behind the renowned luxury fashion platform Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop, has finalized the price band for its initial public offering (IPO). The company has set the range at ₹546 to ₹575 per equity share, aiming to raise approximately ₹834 crore through the public markets. The offering consists of a fresh issue of shares worth ₹265 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 9.9 million shares by existing shareholders.

At the upper end of the price band, the Mumbai-based startup is seeking a valuation of roughly ₹3,100 crore ($370 million). The subscription period for the IPO is scheduled to open on December 11 and will close on December 13, marking a significant milestone for the Indian luxury retail ecosystem.

Strategic Allocation of Capital

According to the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP), Purple Style Labs intends to utilize the net proceeds from the fresh issue primarily for expansion and debt management. Specifically, ₹120 crore is earmarked for setting up new luxury experience centers and expanding the retail footprint of Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop across key domestic and international markets. Additionally, the company plans to allocate ₹50 crore toward the repayment or prepayment of certain borrowings, while the remaining funds will support general corporate purposes and inorganic growth through potential acquisitions.

Founded in 2015 by Abhishek Agarwal, Purple Style Labs has carved a niche in the high-end designer wear market. The company acquired Pernia’s Pop-Up Shop in 2018 and has since scaled it into a multi-channel platform featuring over 1,000 Indian designers, catering to a global luxury clientele.

Financial Performance and Investor Outlook

The move to go public comes on the heels of robust growth for the company. Purple Style Labs reported a significant jump in revenue from operations, reaching ₹370 crore in FY24 compared to ₹175 crore in FY23. While the company is still in a growth phase, its ability to scale the designer aggregator model has attracted interest from various private equity and venture capital investors prior to this listing.

For startup founders and investors, this IPO serves as a litmus test for the scalability of the "house of brands" and luxury aggregation model in India. If successful, it could pave the way for other premium retail and D2C startups to explore public listings as a viable exit and capitalization strategy.
